Ok after a few hours of sleep and a shower and shave I feel human again.

Started this morning off over at 4 wheelparts and they pissed me off. When I got new tires they only had 4 of the 5 so T worked with the San Jose 4WP and arranged that I would bring the rim and they would mount and balance the tire. I got the I have an installer call in sick and we are backed up. I asked if I dropped off the rim if they could have it done by noon. He told me that he probably couldn’t. So Tim and I grabed the tire and went down the road to find a tire shop. A half mile down the road we found a small shop that 10 minutes and 7 dollars later it was mounted and balanced and we started on the road.

Currently sitting in Denny’s(blah) but it’s food getting ready for the next part of the adventure.

Getting ready to head out in a little while. It was good to have the morning to work on a few work issues that I don’t need to deal with now.

We should be on the road around noon.

OK who ever said it’s not too long to drive to SLC hasn’t done the drive.

Granted we did get a bit of a late start 1:30PM from Sac we got into SLC would 12:30 AM. We didn’t stop too much 3 times in Reno once to grab fuel and twice to find food. BTW Boomtown isn’t good for food any more didn’t see anything and move to a place that Chet has taken me too a couple times.

Once on the road we did pretty good we had to stop a couple times for fuel, the lift+tires+weight in the back of the FJ means fuel economy = suck. We also ended up stuck in a accident on 80 where a tractor trailer went up in flames, channel 19 was fun to listen to.

Overall day two went pretty well.

Well after working most of the day then going to watch Grog wheel and deal on a new truck I got my start on the road to Ouray for the FJ Cruiser Summit.

Currently I’m getting ready to pass out here at Tim and Amanda’s house in Orangevale. Tomorrow Tim and I head off towards Salt Lake City. Not sure what time we are leaving, but we will be making SLC sometime tomorrow evening.

Any how it’s time to crash out.

I’m not even ready to go yet, still need to finish packing and work is going by way to slowly. I wasn’t even supposed to be here today. However huge problems that popped up two weeks ago made it so I couldn’t take day off. The instant this meeting is over and I get my last email out I’m outta here Soprano’s style.

Well its coming down to the wire. My road trip to Ouray is getting ready to start late tomorrow.

I’ve gotten a few things done, but I’m still trying to figure out what I need for the trip. The worst part is I can’t put my finger on what I need to get done to get ready for the trip.

The FJ has new wheels and tires, as well as a Old Man Emu lift. I have both the 706 and the FT-7800 installed. I have some recovery gear as well as some tools. I need to pack my spare CV as a precaution, figure is I have it I won’t need it.

Overall I’m looking forward to the trip and meeting some of the folks on the forum I hang out on, so far almost every one I’ve met in real life has been very cool.

I will be posting daily from the road and if I feel up to it I will be running a streaming video of my drive across the Nevada and Utah.
